The DFG research unit FOR2581 organised Sept 9th-11th 2019 an international symposium on plant quantitative morphodynamics.

Our goal is to provide a platform to discuss the most recent advances in our  understanding of how plants grow and shape their organs and how these shapes adapt and evolve.

The symposium featured presentations by invited speakers and speakers selected from the abstracts on the following topics:

  • Mechanics and patterning of plants growth
  • Quantifying cell and tissue growth
  • Modelling plant growth
  • Evolution of plant form

The symposium featured keynotes lectures by Dominique Bergmann and Enrico Coen.

More than 120 participants took part to the Plant Growth & Form Symposium in Heidelberg, from September 9-11th.
